Hello!  This is a blog by one doctor who is trying to live the healthy lifestyle she asks her patients to live everyday.  I have been obese for the last 12 years and I am working on making long lasting changes, and not settling for a quick fix. I am tired of the ups and downs of losing weight and gaining it back. It is physically and mentally exhausting!


I decided to publish my journey for several reasons-

1. To hold myself accountable. In the past it had been way too easy for me to justify binge eating and  it exercising. I blame my job and being tired and stressed. Those excuses only led me down a self destructive path. Keeping a record of my journey helps me to have to own up to my choices.

2. To help other people know that they are not alone in this struggle. Yes, I am a doctor, but I am also a human being. I am fallible and I face the same challenges that many other people face. I hope to provide a sense of community so that we can all help each other be better.

I also publish recipes and I like to ponder medicine and other topics from time to time, so you may see some writings on other subjects as well. Thank you for stopping by!  If you have any questions or comments, I am happy to get back to you directly!
